This is the biggest mission in the history of La Tanière, this zoo-refuge installed in the agglomeration of Chartres (Eure-et-Loir) which saves animals to give them a better life.
“An emergency, rescue mission”, explains Patrick Violas, co-founder, with his wife, of this haven of peace for these miraculous beings. And this mission will be played out between Israel and France, at exactly 4,521 kilometers from La Tanière.
An unprecedented rescue thousands of kilometers away
In a video made thousands of kilometers from France, Patrick Violas looks back on the extraordinary rescue that is being prepared for the zoo-refuge, a story that proves, according to him “the international recognition of La Tanière“.
The establishment was contacted by the association Le Graal and an association located near Tel Aviv, which collects donkeys from the Middle East.
Committed to animal welfare, they want to offer another life to these donkeys
The low, Francine and Patrick Violas met Sharon who, “since she was little, has dedicated her life to the animal cause”. Some time ago, the authorities rescued hundreds of donkeys, and placed them in Sharon’s association.
These animals, smaller than those that can be seen in Europe, live in the middle of the fields of orange trees, but are too numerous to evolve serenely. They only have one hectare to live on.
Too many to stay in Tel Aviv
Despite this “little paradise on earth”, “the estate is too small and the donkeys walk on each other”, explains Patrick Violas.
They are not unhappy, they are outnumbered. (…) The association over there no longer has much money to feed them, nor hay.
So the founders of the zoo-refuge decided to take up this crazy bet: repatriate the donkeys to France to save them. “Everyone is very motivated” by this extraordinary rescue, assure the Violas who intend to place the donkeys once they are in France.
The donkeys will arrive in France by plane
Technically, to carry out this unprecedented operation, four planes will most certainly be chartered for the transport, to France, of these donkeys. As incredible as it may seem, in Tel Aviv, the association is already working to settle all the administrative procedures and in particular the creation of animal passports!
The founders of the zoo-refuge hope to reach the whole world with this story and collect donations so that this rescue can succeed in the best conditions for the well-being of these donkeys.
