– Convenience stores such as Malpyo bitumen box chocolate, Cheonma-pyo cement gift set, and memories of Go egg chocolate have launched unique products aimed at’Seolentine’ (New Year’s Day Valentine’s Day). This year’s Valentine’s Day (February 14) coincided with the Lunar New Year holidays, aiming at the demand for exchanging fun gifts with family members or lovers.

– In particular, products with retro sensibility stood out. CU put Kana Chocolate, Binz, Chocolate Cookies, etc. as a gift set in a package with the character of the shoe polish. The Great King Malpyo Shoe Polish Pack and Malpyo Choco Bean added fun by using a real shoe polish tin case. Malpyo pouch and eco bag were also available. In addition, CU recently relaunched the mini-go chocolate, which was popular as a toy for students through the’Knowledge Game’ more than 20 years ago. A CU official said, “The retro craze in the convenience store industry has continued since it became so popular that last year, there was no gompyo wheat beer from CU, which led to a shortage phenomenon.

7-Eleven joined hands with Sungshin Yanghoe, which is famous for its Cheonma Display Mention brand. Cheonmajeomment popcorn and chocolate, which used the shape of a cheonmajeomment bag as it is in the package, was introduced. The package can be used as a shopping cart made of reusable non-woven material instead of vinyl or plastic packaging. In addition, products featuring the cartoon movie Robot Taekwon V and the popular American character Minions were also released. A 7-Eleven official said, “We will continue to release collaboration products that incorporate fun elements to deliver unique enjoyment and experiences to consumers.”

– E-Mart 24 chose a strategy to put Hite Jinro Toad goods in chocolate. There is chocolate in a blue toad-shaped piggy bank or cup that a toad figure holds. An official from E-Mart 24 said, “On this Valentine’s Day, we decided on the theme of the event and introduced limited edition Toad goods in the meaning of conveying love with Toad goods.”

GS25 utilized the Kakao Friends character. Goods such as a camping garland (a long string of cloth or paper pieces attached to each other), a mini folding box, a stainless steel cup, and a custom sticker were enclosed in the Kakao Friends’ Plain, Corn, Jay-Z, Ryan, Apeach character box. In addition, a special product using the character of Amon Earth, which is recently popular with Generation Z, was also introduced.
