In fact, already during the first quarter of 2021, due to the prices of raw materials, there will be an increase of 4.5% on electricity and 5.3% on gas. In particular, the second figure also takes into account seasonality, as winter demand tends to grow. In reality, however, “The change in the quarter returns a dynamic in line with seasonal trends and with the values ​​of raw materials”. But what does all this mean concretely for Italian families? Beyond the increase in the amount of electricity and gas bills, referring to the period between 1 April 2020 and 31 March 2021, a typical Italian family will incur an electricity cost of approximately 448 euros. That is 10.2% less than the previous year. A saving that materializes in the figure of 55 euros per year. On the other hand, as regards gas, the cost will be around 950 euros, with a reduction of 8.8%, more or less 91 euros a year. On what, therefore, the bills highest we will encounter starting from January 2021? As anticipated, it will essentially be an increase linked to energy raw materials. We can, therefore, conclude that despite these increases, Italian families will experience overall savings, in addition to the bonuses applicable in this sector and which will be automatically recognized to those entitled to them.
