19-year-old Etienne Schalch is a carpenter and at the same time one of the greatest young talents in Swiss volleyball.
Four years ago there was no indication that Etienne Schalch would be part of the first team of Volley Amriswil and Junior Swiss Champion in beach volleyball in summer 2023. In 2019, at the age of 15, Schalch started his apprenticeship at the Krattiger timber construction company in Amriswil. He was already playing volleyball diligently, but – and he says it himself: “I wasn’t that good yet.”
