How to go from an intimate production to a great production with great platforms?

Knowing the script and being clear about the reasons for the story are a vital element in directing any production. From the hand of Amat we will know from his experience that he has had from his intimate projects to productions with more than 200 extras and 10 actors on stage.

Amat Escalante

He began working in the cinema at the age of fifteen.

He made his debut as a director with his fiction short film Tied (2002). His debut feature Blood (2005) won the FIPRESCI award at the 58th Cannes Film Festival, France, within the “Un certain regard” section, and the Alexander Silver Award at the 46th Thessaloniki International Film Festival (TIFF), Greece, among other awards.

For his third feature film Heli (2013), competed for the Palme d’Or at Cannes and won the Best Director award; the ARRI / OSRAM award for Best Foreign Film at the 31st Munich Film Festival, Germany; the Cine Latino Award at the 24th Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF), California, among other recognitions.
