Frölunda stole three points against the SHL jumbo: “A robbery”

HOURS. Timrå won the shot with 34-16.
Frölunda won the match 3-1.
– It is a match like this that is called a robbery, says FHC’s assistant coach Anders Burström.

For the third time this season, Frölunda and Timrå were pitted against each other, and for the third time this season, it was Frölunda who emerged victorious from the battle.

In previous times, the Gothenburgers have had a real advantage in the matches and won fairly.

This time it was the opposite.

Despite eleven straight cod, Timrå did well and created enough chances to score points.

But when the goals were missed for the home team, much thanks to a big-playing Niklas Rubin in the Frölunda goal, the guests were able to retire with another victory.

We come up to Timrå and know that we will face a skilled team, this is the third match against them. I do not think we will come out well and Timrå owns the first period. We have a nice first goal, with a nice twilight, but that is perhaps the positive thing in the first period, says Burström and continues:

– Timrå pulls us out really so we do not get hit in our press, which is one of our strengths normally, then we have to take some long attacks on them and then they are skilled and good.

The victory means that Frölunda tops the table in the SHL, two points ahead of Rögle who has played two games less.

And there is a difference in this year’s Frölunda compared to what ended up seventh in the basic series last year and then went out in four straight games against Rögle in the quarter final series.

– If this had been last season, we would not have picked up points today, so we find new ways to win matches and we think this year is very strong and positive, says Burström.

But the three points and Niklas Rubin were perhaps also the only thing that really pleased Frölunda.

– I think that Timrå is better than us over the three period and we get away with difficulty against a skilled gang. “Ruben” makes a fantastic effort in the cage, which is very positive, says Anders Burström and continues:

I do not think at all that we are reaching a level that we can demand of each other. We meet a team that plays desperately and has a lot of straight cod so we know exactly what we need to do and I do not think we do. What is positive, despite 16-34 in shots and that they win the goal chances, is that we can still win a match like this. And we’ll take that with us.
