He was released a month ago from the Châteaudun detention center (Eure-et-Loir), but this Monday, June 13, 2022, this man arrives handcuffed in the box of the judicial court of Chartres. He is appearing as part of an immediate appearance for violence.
On the night of Friday June 10 to Saturday June 11, 2022, the defendant was arrested by the gendarmerie at the Villages-Vovéens. He is heavily alcoholic. Hosted with his sister for two weeks, he abused the drink, he who has not drunk for more than three years and who admits not knowing how to manage his alcohol consumption.
However, on Friday evening, he chained glasses of whiskey and Coke, to the point of no longer remembering the rest of the evening.
A broken nose for free
Around midnight, a couple returns from a collection of classic cars. The two young people, aged 18 and 19, park their car at the bottom of the HLM residences. While doing the manoeuvre, the driver is interrupted by an individual, probably “destroyed”, according to the statements of the victim, who is told to cut off the contact.
The victim takes a punch in the nose for no apparent reason, before fleeing to take refuge, with his girlfriend, in the hall of the building. He finally has his nose broken.
The defendant, already well known to justice with several convictions, walks to the door of the building and goes after a neighbour’s mailbox. He was arrested by the gendarmes, alerted by one of the victims and the neighborhood.
“Wrong place, wrong time”
At the helm, he apologizes to the civil parties and expresses regret. “When I drink, I don’t know what I’m doing and I go crazy.” However, he says that he has taken steps to treat his problem with the alcohol.
The prosecutor can only regret that the young couple found themselves “in the wrong place, at the wrong time”.
The defendant was sentenced to three months in prison with a three-month revocation of a previous sentence (a total of six months’ imprisonment). An additional sentence which notifies the prohibition to hold or carry a weapon for five years has been pronounced. After the hearing, the man was incarcerated.
