French stocks rally for seventh day, CAC 40 index adds 0.76 percent

Paris (ANTARA) – French stocks ended higher on Friday (11/5), extending their rally for a seventh straight day with the benchmark CAC 40 index on the Paris Stock Exchange adding 0.76 percent, or 53.00. points, to settle at 7,040.79 points.

The CAC 40 index rose 0.53 percent or 37.14 points to 6,987.79 points on Thursday (4/11), after rising 0.34 percent, or 23.62 points, to 6,950.65 points on Wednesday (3/11) and increased the previous four days by 0.49 percent, 0.92 percent, 0.38 percent and 0.75 percent, respectively.

Of the 40 stocks of selected large companies that are components of the CAC 40 index, 29 stocks managed to record profits, while 11 other stocks suffered losses.

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE, a French property company and commercial real estate developer, soared 5.10 percent to become the biggest gainer (top gainer) from superior shares or blue chips.

It was followed by French aerospace and defense systems and equipment supplier Safran SA which jumped 5.03 percent, and European multinational aerospace industry company Airbus SE rose 4.50 percent.

Meanwhile, Teleperformance SA, a French multinational customer relationship management service provider, posted the most losses (top loser) among the leading stocks, with its share price plummeting 5.00 percent.

Followed by shares of international laboratory companies providing testing and support services to the pharmaceutical, food, environmental, agricultural science and consumer products industries, Eurofins Scientific SE, which fell .65 percent; and French water and sewage treatment service provider Veolia Environnement SA fell 2.02 percent.
