Marseille were temporarily leading the French league, pending the completion of group matches, following a 3-0 win over Angers on Friday in the 9th round of “Ligue A”.
Marseille’s goals were signed by winger Jonathan Claus in the 35th minute, Colombian striker Luis Javier Suarez (50 ‘) and Brazilian midfielder Gerson (59’).
Marseille lead the French league with 23 points, one point behind Paris Saint-Germain in second place, while Angers’ balance stalled at 8 points in 14th place.
