French actor Michel Piccoli passed away at the age of 94 NOW

French actor, producer and director Michel Piccoli died on Monday at the age of 94. That makes his family known to the AFP press service, reports RTL.

Born in Paris, Piccoli has starred in over two hundred films, plays and series throughout his career.

He made his film debut in 1945 Sortilèges and was seen in the famous black comedy La Grande Bouffe from 1973. He was also six times the opponent of actress Romy Schneider.

His role in Italian production A Leap in the Dark earned him the Best Actor award in 1980, which was presented at the Cannes Film Festival.

In 1982 he won the Silver Bear for best actor, which he received for his role in the French drama Strange Affair.

Piccoli has been married three times, including eleven years with singer Juliette Gréco. From 1980 he was married to Ludivine Clerc. He has a daughter from his first marriage.
