Swimming in the small Opfinger Baggersee (Ochsenmoos) is now possible again. The forest office will promptly remove the warning signs advising against it. This step is possible after the health department of the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district office had announced that the latest measurements showed that both cyanobacteria and enterococci were only found in harmless quantities in the lake.

On September 4th, the health department and the city’s environmental protection agency urgently recommended not to swim in the small Opfinger See until further notice. In the entire area of the lake, enterococci were found in the water, which can cause diarrhea in humans and animals. That is why the forestry office had put up warning signs around the lake.

The water quality of the lake will continue to be closely monitored.
