Freiburg: Meat processing company in Freiburg checked – Hauptzollamt Lörrach was only able to identify two indications of possible violations

In order to combat undeclared work and illegal employment, the financial control undeclared work in Freiburg of the main customs office in Lörrach checked a company in the meat processing industry on 28 May.

25 employees found in the company were asked about their working conditions and insights into the business documents were taken. The 16 customs officers were also supported by employees of the trade supervisory authority of the city of Freiburg.

Overall, from the customs point of view, there were only two indications of possible violations: a foreign worker was not able to show a work permit at the time of the inspection, another worker is suspected of wrongfully receiving social benefits in addition to his wages.

“Overall, the 25 workers found and interviewed were very cooperative,” said Pascal Krieg from the main customs office in Lörrach, who was responsible for the operation.
