A new app answers all questions about waste and urban cleanliness in Freiburg – and offers a lot of service. When is the rubbish picked up, where is the next container for electronic waste, when do the recycling centers open? The new garbage app knows. Available free of charge from the Play Store and the App Store from December 1st.

After the end of the Wunderfitz app, which also offered a digital waste calendar, the waste management and municipal cleaning department Freiburg (ASF) developed an independent service app together with the city of Freiburg. During the development, the focus was on intuitive usability, a clear structure and good interaction between citizens and waste management. All requests from Freiburg households to the ASF can now be made quickly and conveniently via the app: the request to change the residual waste container, the request for bulky waste to be collected or the notification of wild garbage deposits. Thanks to the app’s practical reminder and message functions, the user stays up-to-date, doesn’t forget an emptying date postponed by a public holiday and always knows what’s new in the service for all things waste.

All dates and information contained in the app are also printed in the Freiburg waste calendar for 2021. This will be distributed to all households and commercial establishments in the city center with the first December edition of the municipal gazette on Friday and Saturday, December 4th and 5th.

The waste calendar will be available from December 7th at the Citizens Advice Center in the City Hall, at the City Hall in Stühlinger and at the Freiburg recycling centers. Households that have inadvertently not received a waste calendar can contact the ASF by calling 0761 76 70 77 10 or sending an email to [email protected].
