In the current particularly difficult time with enormously increased prices for food and energy, this campaign is “more valuable than ever”.
From 28 November to 15 December 2022, shoe boxes can be filled with Christmas gifts and delivered at branches and in the financial center of the Sparkasse Freiburg-Nördlicher Breisgau. Christmas packages for
Action accepted during normal business hours.
Parcels are handed over to residents of AWO retirement and nursing homes as well as elderly people cared for by the outpatient services of the two district associations AWO Freiburg and Emmendingen and the local associations AWO Denzlingen, Emmendingen and Waldkirch. Information is also available on the AWO-Freiburg website at www.awo-freiburg.de.

“Something for the Stomach, Something for the Head, and Something for the Heart”
For people with low pensions, the greatly increased cost of groceries means they have to do without a lot when they shop or only rarely indulge in certain things.
Therefore, give these old people something good when you put together your Christmas package.
Tea, coffee, honey, jam, Christmas biscuits, stollen, small Linzer cake, noodles, soup, tinned sausages, chocolate, puzzle books, body care products, etc.
Small gifts for the elderly who “do good”.
A special joy can be achieved with some nice Christmas lines and wishes, or painted pictures and handicrafts that children add to the package as gifts.
Packing / organizational:
Please put the unwrapped gifts into a standard shoe box, which can be closed tightly after filling. Place the recipient’s or sender’s coupon at the top of the shoebox. Please do not pack the box.
The Christmas packing of all donated parcels will take place from 14 to 17 December at the AWO-Freiburg. This is done in accordance with the applicable Corona regulation and a corresponding hygiene concept.
IT IS VERY USEFUL:
In order for everything to go as planned, it helps if the parcels do not arrive at the Sparkasse at the famous “last minute”. Because already on December 14th, the Freiburg AWO needs a corresponding number of parcels for packing.
This way the gifts can be delivered to the elderly in time for Christmas.
If there are more Christmas packages than have been ordered by the establishments and services, these will be forwarded by the AWO-Freiburg to the social organizations in the region that deal with elderly or lonely people.
Donors who indicate their address or e-mail address on the coupon (see flyer) will be informed in January about the progress of the campaign.
Donate money:
Anyone who can’t fill a shoebox with gifts but wants to support the “Christmas with the heart” campaign can also do so with a cash donation.
Campaign leaflets are available in Sparkasse branches, as are ready-made transfer slips for cash donations. AWO-Freiburg will then be happy to take over the shopping and packing.
