PLN Executive Vice President Corporate Communication and CSR Agung Murdifi said, household customers starting from R1M / 900 VA (Non-Subsidized) and above are not included in the electricity tariff stimulus.
Agung said, there are four types of groups of electricity customers who get relief, both in the form of bill exemptions and the provision of discounts.
The four categories of customers are:
- 450VA Household Exemption of bills / tokens Free April-September 2020
- 900VA Subsidized Household 50% discount on bills / tokens April-September 2020
- Small Business 450VA Waiver / Free May-October 2020
- Small Industries 450 VA Waiver of bills / Free May-October 2020
“For household customers, only 450 VA and 900 VA are subsidized,” Agung said when contacted Kompas.com, Sunday (2/8/2020).
Electricity subsidy from PLN is given for users of 450 VA and 900 VA. 450 VA customers are completely free, while subsidized 900 VA customers get a discount of 50 percent.
How to get PLN electricity subsidies:
There are two methods that can be used by customers to claim electricity subsidies this July.
Can through the official website of PLN at www. PLN.co.id and WhatsApp chat application.
1. Open the official PLN website at www.pln.co.id.
2. Click the Covid-19 Stimulus (free token / discount)
3. Enter the Customer ID / Meter Number in the search field.
4. Enter the Captcha code then click Search.
5. Free electricity token or a 50 percent discount will appear in the description column.
6. Free electricity tokens or 50 percent discount is successfully obtained, customers can enter these figures into kWh meters.

It starts by sending a message in the form of a customer ID number.
3. After that, an automatic reply appears from PLN to follow the instructions by typing number 1.

Covid-19 stimulus for social, business and industrial customers
Agung said that PLN was also ready to carry out the Covid-19 stimulus for social, business and industrial customers.
Director of Commerce and Customer Management, Bob Saril in his written statement, stated, PLN will provide free mineral accounts for social, business and industrial customers with a power starting from 1300 VA and above.
If the customer’s usage is below the minimum kWh, Bob said, then the customer only needs to pay according to his kWh usage.
In addition, this stimulus is also given to social power customers of 220 VA-900 VA, business customers and 900 VA power industry in the form of reduced load costs.
“As a state-owned company, PLN is ready to run a government policy to provide stimulus in the form of a minimum account waiver and expense,” Bob said.

This program is given by the government for:
1. Exemption from applying the minimum account requirement for customers who use electricity under the minimum account requirement (40 hours on), applies to:
- Social Class Customers power 1300 VA and above (S2 / 1300 VA sd S-3 /> 200 kVA).
- Customers of Business Groups with power of 1300 VA and above (B1 / 1,300 VA to B-3 /> 200 kVA).
- Industry Class Customers power 1300 VA and above (I-1 / 1,300 VA sd I-4 / 30,000 kVA and above).
2. Exemption from the application of the Minimum Flame Hour requirement for Special Service Class customers in accordance with the Power Purchase Agreement (SPJBTL).
3. Waiver of Fees, applied to:
- Social Group customers power 220 VA and 900 VA (S-1/220 VA, S-2/450 VA, S-2/900 VA).
- Business Group Customers power 900 VA (B-1/900 VA).
- Industry Class Customers Power 900 VA (1-1 / 900 VA).
Through this electricity tariff stimulus, customers only need to pay according to real usage.
While the difference from the Minimum Account or Minimum Flame Hour to the account of actual usage and Expense Costs becomes a stimulus paid by the Government.
This stimulus is effective from July, August, September, October, November, and December accounts in 2020.
PLN ensures this stimulus will not interfere with PLN’s finances.
The reason is that every stimulus given will be replaced by the government through a compensation mechanism such as stimulus that has been given to 450 VA and 900 VA subsidized household customers, as well as 450 VA industry and small businesses.
