This time it’s the right one, VoLTE will indeed be supported by Free Mobile. Before a general launch, the operator organizes a public beta test. If you want to experiment with this technology, send “volte” by SMS to 1337. You must then activate VoLTE in your phone settings. At Apple, compatible terminals range from iPhone 7 to iPhone 13. The list of other compatible smartphones is on the Free website.
VoLTE, already deployed for years at Bouygues Telecom, Orange and SFR, routes phone calls over the 4G network. This has several advantages: calls are made faster, audio quality is improved and the smartphone stays on 4G during the call.
