NEW YORK.- New York authorities and the popular fast food chain Shake Shack joined forces to offer free burgers and fries, in order to encourage citizens to get vaccinated against Covid-19.
The mayor of the Big Apple, Bill de Blasio, presented the promotion eating a portion in the middle of a press conference and at a more suitable time for breakfast, in an image that was soon circulated in local media and social networks.
“Mmm, vaccination“, declared De Blasio after take a bite of a hamburger in his peculiar attempt to tempt New Yorkers to approach one of the points installed throughout the city to administer doses of the serum.

“There are many people who are ready to get vaccinated, they just haven’t. They need a small additional incentive, “said the mayor, who in recent days has announced various strategies to make it easier for all citizens, New Yorkers and abroad, to get the vaccine.
Shake Shack confirms alliance and free burgers
Within those efforts, Shake Shack will offer during the next days a voucher for a hamburger those who are vaccinated in one of the moving points scattered around the city.
For those who have already received the puncture, the restaurant chain offers free fries together with the purchase of a sandwich just by presenting the vaccination card.

Incentives of all kinds to encourage citizens to get vaccinated have become widespread in recent weeks in the United States, as it has decreased vaccination rate, not for lack of dose, but for lack of arms to administer them.
The country has the arduous task of convincing the undecided in a race against time until the July 4th, Independence Day “virus”, in the words of the president Joe Biden, when the goal is that the 70% of adults have received at least one dose and that some are immunized 160 million people.
