Recently had Fredrik Skavlan (55) his latest “Skavlan” broadcast. In the studio were, among others, Sweden’s new Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson (54), actress Felix Herngren (54) and comedian Else Kåss Furuseth (41).
And what a candid broadcast it was! The guests had obviously decided to put Fredrik to the wall in his latest «Skavlan»…

Was grilled
Both Else and Felix went to work when it came to Fredrik and his beloved Maria Bonnevie’s (48) civil status.
– Are not you and Maria married? Felix wondered.
– No, we are not married, Fredrik replied.
– Maybe you’re free now? Else asked.

Then Fredrik had to crawl to the cross and admit that he had actually made peace with Maria – already 15 years ago.
– I have never said this before, but since you ask: I proposed on a beach in Thailand, Fredrik reveals.
– Do not pretend
The courtship took place on New Year’s Eve itself, and Fredrik had calculated that the New Year’s rockets would color the dark sky as he asked the big question.
– I had bought a beautiful ring, and I wrote a note to her that said “come to the beach”. It was perfectly planned! he says.

Maria sa «njieh»
The talk show king is mostly used to getting the answers he is looking for, but this time his plan took a direction he had not envisioned.
– I said “do you want to marry me?”. Had the answer just come across, but, no, she had to think about it, and then it became a no. Or, she said “njieh, I do not think so.”, Says Fredrik – who tried to keep his composure.
– Then I said that “you can keep the ring, and we can get married the day you put it on”. But it is 15 years ago now, so it will never happen, Fredrik admits – in retrospect happy that the courtship ended the way it did.
Was thrown out of “Skavlan” recording
– In a way, it was very good, because it had been too early to get married, and it had ruined everything, Fredrik assumes.
To round off the surprising courtship story, he addresses himself directly to the TV camera – with a clear message to his loved one back home:
– Maria, we do not need to go further on this. We are very well. I am very happy that we have what we have, he says with his familiar and charming smile.

First TV hit
Maria and Fredrik met for the first time when he had the Norwegian-Swedish actor as a guest in the “Skavlan” forerunner “First and Last” in 2002. It was not love at first sight, but he does not hide that he felt the good feeling.
– I felt excitement, but very professional enthusiasm. I liked her very much, says Fredrik when asked by Else if he checked up on Maria in his own program.

It was only after having her as a guest again in 2005 that things started to happen. In March 2006 came the news of the new super couple. And it was not just marriage that was in Fredrik’s thoughts. He wanted to have children with her immediately:
– I was absolutely sure from the beginning. I wanted children right away. I’m not the type who thinks that now it must be enough (…) I am a real family man, and to have the chance to become a father again 22 years after the first child, was fantastic, said a candid Fredrik to Swedish P4s “Elfving meets” in 2014, according to Expressen.
– It’s chaos, but a welcome chaos
Now he and Mary are blessed with three children together, and Fredrik is a happy father of six children.
See and Hear has been in contact with Skavlan’s TV company, which states that Fredrik has nothing more to add beyond what was said in the last broadcast.
