Franche-Comté | Covid-19. Curfew: difficult decision to make in Côte-d’Or

What suspense! Hay of displaced pride, the two regional capitals which shuddered a week ago to escape the reinforced curfew, have just fallen in turn on the night of the Covid-19, forcing the alert rating itself reinforced by 200 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Would they in turn see their advanced two-hour curfew like the rest of their respective regions?

We did not wait long for Strasbourg and Alsace, which therefore officially tighten their nighttime confinement from Sunday evening. The announcement was made on Friday morning by Josiane Chevalier, regional prefect, for the two departments of Alsace whose hospitals accommodate 30% of patients currently hospitalized in the Grand Est and has recorded since the start of the epidemic nearly 40% of deaths due to Covid.

The decision seemed more difficult to take in Dijon. The event was however highly predictable, knowing that the festive merger of Christmas and New Year would inevitably boost the spread of the coronavirus and relaunch this endless second wave, inevitably auguring a trend reversal.

After this double parenthesis of New Years Eve granted to the morale of France, and at a time when vaccination is barely deployed, the fight had to resume therefore more lively than ever. But the answer was long, long, long, Friday evening, on the side of the prefecture of the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region. After 9:55 p.m., the decision had still not been made.
