FRANCE: Total, king of maritime gas supply

This new license follows the 10-year agreement signed in 2019 for the development of an LNG bunkering logistics chain in the port of Singapore. As a reminder, Singapore is the largest LNG bunkering platform in the world, with 20% of the market share.

Infrastructures GNL

Total has actively invested in LNG infrastructure, which is essential to support the adoption of LNG as a marine fuel by its transport customers. Since November 2020, Total has been operating the world’s largest LNG bunker vessel, the “Gas Agility”, in the port of Rotterdam. By 2022, the company will launch another newly built LNG bunker in Marseille (France), while serving the port of Singapore with a third. As part of its strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in maritime transport, Total has simultaneously chartered two VLCCs (Very Large Crude Carriers) and four Aframax-type vessels, all equipped with LNG propulsion, which will be delivered. in 2022 and 2023 respectively.
