FPÖ: Haidinger becomes Petschnig’s candidate

Alexander Petsching already admitted in the BVZ interview that one or more opposing candidates were to be expected, shortly after Hans Tschürtz had given up the post of chairman. And what was last heard as a rumor in the country is now fixed: Not only Petschnig will stand as the FPÖ leader at the state party convention in Neudörfl on March 7, the former member of the Landtag Manfred Haidinger will also run as a candidate. The half-gymnast has now officially announced this via Facebook posting. Haidinger writes that he has already announced his decision in the presidium and party executive.

The blue state party congress after Hans Tschürtz’s departure from the top is all the more exciting. Not least because after the losses in the state election, discussions can be heard within the party and at the official level. For example, individual personnel decisions made by Tschürtz as ex-vice president and now club boss are viewed critically. At the request of the BVZ, Tschürtz said last that it was “pure speculation” and cross shots.
