Lübeck – Am 27th matchday of the LIQUI MOLY HBL there was a full day of play and also the catch-up game of the Handball Sport Verein Hamburg against HBW Balingen-Weilstetten. After the Hamburgers were sensationally successful at the Rhein-Neckar Löwen on Thursday, they showed a desolate performance in the catch-up game and lost to the penultimate Balingen, who thus left the relegation zone. GWD Minden again slipped into the first relegation zone after the home defeat against Kiel. From the top group, Füchse Berlin lost a point at home against Hanover and had to let THW Kiel pass them again in second place. The relegation zone sent signs of life and moved closer to lower midfield.

Top quartet is having a hard time – foxes miss points

The sovereign leader SC Magdeburg (48:4) had just as difficult a 29:26 win at HSG Wetzlar as the new second place THW Kiel (42:10) at 30:27 over GWD Minden. Füchse Berlin (42:10) are the new third after 32:32 at home against Hannover. Only the SG Flensburg-Handewitt (40:12) brought their home game against the bottom TuS N.-Lübbecke safely to the finish line with 30:19.

Leipzig now leads the upper midfield

With the 29:25 over Lemgo, SC DHfK Leipzig (30:22) moved up to 5th place, followed by FRISCH AUF! Göppingen (29:21), who surprisingly kidnapped both points from MT Melsungen (29:23) at 26:24. In front of Melsungen, HSG Wetzlar (29:23) finished with the same number of points after the home defeat against the leader. Here the upper middle field already ends with a positive point account.

The lower midfield begins with 9th place and TBV Lemgo (24:28), who were left behind in Leipzig. The Rhein-Neckar-Löwen follow with 22:30 points each, who lost on Thursday at home against the Handball Sport Verein Hamburg with 28:34. In their catch-up game against Balingen, Hamburg lost two important points in the Hamburg sports hall with a score of 29:34. Bergische HC (21:33) is in 12th place after 23:30 at HC Erlangen (19:33). In fourteenth place, TSV Hannover-Burgdorf (17:31) closed the lower midfield after the point division in Berlin.

Relegation zone moves closer to lower midfield

Despite the 28:25 success of TVB 1898 Stuttgart (16:36), the zone at risk of relegation begins with the Stuttgarters, who have worked their way closer to the lower midfield. After the sensational 34:29 victory in Hamburg, HBW Balingen-Weilstetten (13:39) also left the relegation zone, which GWD Minden (13:41) now occupies after the home defeat against THW Kiel. TuS N.-Lübbecke (10:40) stayed at the bottom after the defeat in Flensburg.
