Discovered cells that play a key role in the infection of the body with coronavirus. One type causes complications, while the other produces an immune response. This is reported by Cell Reports Medicine with reference to scientists from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden.
Doctors conducted a study and analyzed the blood of people with severe coronavirus. It turned out that they have white bodies in their blood, which are called eosinophils. They occur in people shortly before they develop complications from the coronavirus, such as lack of oxygen and pneumonia.
Scientists have found other white basophilic bodies as well. Their presence in human blood indicates that the body is developing an immune response to the virus.
