The third external new signing from SC Fortuna Köln already knows the Regionalliga West well. Dustin Willms last played for the third division club FSV Zwickau, before that for Fortuna Düsseldorf II.

At the age of four, Dustin Willms wore a jersey on the soccer field for the first time. The 22-year-old took his first steps with a ball at SV Südkirchen in the Coesfeld district in 2003 before he was drawn to the FC Schalke 04 youth team via VfB Waltrop. After his first A youth year, the fast left winger left the Knappenschmiede and joined Fortuna Düsseldorf. On the right bank of the Rhine, the left foot received a contract and played his first senior years with the second team in the Regionalliga West. In the 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 seasons he made a total of 38 appearances and scored six goals with one assist.
This was followed by a move to FSV Zwickau in eastern Germany. There Willms had 42 third division appearances, two goals and three assists.
Matthias Mink, sporting director of Fortuna, has high hopes for the third external newcomer: “With Dustin we were able to sign a young and already experienced offensive player. I’ve known Dustin from his time at Fortuna Düsseldorf and I’m convinced that his determination and speed will give our attacking game a decisive boost.”
