(Reuters) – Epic Games, the publisher of the online game Fortnite, said on Monday it had taken legal action to prevent Apple from excluding the game from its app store and asking a judge to prevent the group to the apple to retaliate against other titles in its catalog.
According to Epic, Apple plans to exclude it entirely from its development tools starting August 28.
Apple pulled Fortnite from its app store last week, criticizing Epic for breaking its revenue sharing rules.
Along with legal proceedings to overturn this exclusion, Epic has launched a social media campaign with the slogan “#FreeFortnite” calling on players to demand refunds from Apple if they lose access to the game.
