Formula 1 | F1 condemns final words of Bernie Ecclestone

Formula 1 issued a press release this evening following the words of its former manager, Bernie Ecclestone, which we are reporting to you in full here.

The former big money dealer confided to CNN on the subject of diversity and had a few shocking sentences, believing that F1 had not acted for diversity since its departure but especially, that “in many cases, blacks are more racist than whites”.

Obviously, when F1 launched its We Race As One initiative, these comments greatly displeased.

“At a time when unity is necessary to fight racism and inequality, we totally disagree with the comments made by Bernie Ecclestone, words that have no place in Formula 1 or society.”

“Mr. Ecclestone has not played a role in Formula 1 since he left our organization in 2017,” said F1, adding that “his title of president emeritus, in an honorary capacity, expired in January 2020.”
