Russian investigators issued a statement on the 6th saying that Kiva was shot and his body was found in a park in Odintsovo, an elite suburb of Moscow.

The Russian Investigative Committee said in a statement that an unidentified person shot the victim with an unknown weapon, and the victim died on the spot due to his injuries.

An unnamed Ukrainian source told Reuters that the mastermind behind the attack was the Ukrainian National Security Service. Several Ukrainian media also cited sources saying that Ukraine’s National Security Service assassinated Kiva.

Ukrainian military intelligence spokesman Andriy Yusov hinted at Ukraine’s involvement in the assassination in comments to state television, saying, “We can confirm that Kiva is done. Such a fate will befall other traitors in Ukraine as well as Putin Followers of the Ting regime.”

Yusof also called Kiva “one of the most despicable scoundrels, traitors and traitors” and said his death was an act of “justice”.

Kiva was sanctioned by the UK last year for “undermining the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine”. A Ukrainian court sentenced him to 14 years in prison in absentia on charges of treason and inciting violence.
