former treasurer taken into custody

The former treasurer of Proxidentaire, whose two centers in Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur (Côte-d’Or) and Belfort have been closed since last October, is placed in pre-trial detention. He is accused of breaking his legal obligations after being indicted.

This is a new episode in the Proxidentaire affair. While the Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur (Côte-d’Or) and Belfort (Territoire de Belfort) centers have been permanently closed since October 2021 following a decision by the ARS, the former treasurer of the association cause for his medical practices and the mutilation of his patients, has been detained since March 7.

He did not respect his judicial control. Indicted for “illegal exercise of the profession of dental surgeon, deception in the provision of services which has led to a danger to health and breach of trust”, the former treasurer would have tried to create a new dental practice in the Haut-Rhin, near the Swiss border.

On November 16, he would have opened a bank account in the name of a new medical structure. According to our colleagues from Public Good, this account would be supplied by the English group Dental Global. The sums made available would be equivalent to the amount of the bond settlement set by the courts last October, when the treasurer was indicted.

This Wednesday, March 23, he appealed his incarceration, without appearing before the judges. The former treasurer refutes all the charges and denies having broken his judicial control.

As a reminder, in July 2021, the ARS had noted “breaches of the quality and safety of care”, within the Proxidentaire centers of Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur and Belfort. The two medical structures were notably accused of acts of voluntary mutilation on their patients and suspected of concealed work or even fraud in social benefits.

An investigation has been opened by the Dijon prosecutor’s office since last summer. More than 80 complaints have thus been lodged and a collective of victims has been formed and includes nearly 150 people. All of these victims should benefit from an exceptional measure of compensation.
