“Former Texas Longhorns Wide Receiver Xavier Worthy Breaks NFL Scouting Combine Record with Lightning Fast 4.21 Second Run”

Former Texas Longhorns wide receiver Xavier Worthy has made history at the NFL scouting combine, breaking the record for the fastest run ever recorded. Worthy’s lightning-fast time of 4.21 seconds on his second attempt surpassed John Ross III’s previous record by .01 seconds. According to Next Gen Stats, Worthy reached an impressive speed of 24.21 mph during his record-breaking run.

The 20-year-old athlete started off strong with a time of 4.25 seconds in his first attempt, outperforming all other participants in the field. Additionally, Worthy’s 10-yard split time of 1.45 seconds was the fastest of the entire weekend. Although his second run was initially measured at 4.22 seconds, it was later updated to 4.21 seconds, solidifying his place in history.

Comparisons were immediately drawn between Worthy and John Ross III, the former University of Washington wideout who previously held the record. Ross’s impressive performance at the combine in 2017 boosted his draft stock, leading to his selection as the ninth overall pick by the Cincinnati Bengals. Unfortunately, Ross’s career was plagued by injuries, and he retired last offseason after recording 62 receptions for 957 yards and 11 touchdowns with the Bengals and New York Giants.

Even before tying the record, Worthy had already garnered attention from notable figures in the NFL. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and defensive end Charles Omenihu expressed their awe on social media after witnessing Worthy’s first run. Mahomes tweeted, “4.25… crazzyyyy,” while Omenihu simply posted a series of fire emojis.

The reigning Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, will have the last selection in the first round of this year’s draft. However, they were not the only ones impressed by Worthy’s performance. Former NFL receiver DeSean Jackson, who ran a 4.35-second 40-yard dash at his combine, and Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill, who posted a 4.29-second time at his Pro Day, both took to social media to acknowledge Worthy’s incredible achievement. Jackson tweeted, “Young fella @XavierWorthy got ROLLERS. 4:22 sheeeeeeeeesh,” while Hill simply responded with the word “sheesh.”

Worthy’s remarkable performance at the combine comes after an impressive season for the Texas Longhorns. He recorded 75 receptions for 1,014 yards and five touchdowns, helping his team secure the Big 12 title and their first-ever College Football Playoff appearance. With his record-breaking run and stellar college career, Worthy is undoubtedly a name to watch for in the upcoming NFL draft, scheduled to take place on April 25th. Football fans and scouts alike will be eagerly anticipating where this lightning-fast wide receiver will land in the first round.
