Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan Arrested, Sparking Nationwide Protests and Violence

Pakistani security forces have clashed with former Prime Minister Khan’s arrest, sparking chaos across the country.

Khan, 70, was suddenly arrested by security forces in Islamabad, the capital, on the orders of the National Accountability Board (NAB). Khan is due to appear in court on Friday over allegations of corruption amid escalating tensions between Sharif’s government and the military.

Khan’s supporters stormed the residences of senior military officials in Lahore and set fire to at least three buildings across the country on Saturday night. At least four people were killed and 20 injured, according to Khan’s Pakistan Justice Movement (PTI) party.
