The Karlovy Vary native went overseas in 2010, two years later he was drafted by Detroit in the second round as the 49th player overall. But he never made a significant impact in the NHL. He played steadily in the NHL only in the 2017/18 season in Detroit.
The native of Pelhřimov fared significantly better in the lower AHL, where he was among the productive forwards with a hard shot. “I thought I’d get a chance… But it turned out that I didn’t even get a match at the top. That’s how it sometimes goes, I won’t do anything about it. I guess there wasn’t anyone left in the team who I could replace in a typical way. The Blues have good youngsters players who should get a chance before me, which I completely understand. It’s always better for a club to educate its players and prepare them for the NHL,” said Frk.
