Former Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan’s Experience Watching Formula E Jakarta as an Ordinary Spectator

Jakarta

Former Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan witnessed Race 1 Formula E Jakarta first hand. Anies was not invited as the guest of honor and occupied the VIP seat, but instead sat in the economic stand with other spectators.

According to detikOto’s monitoring at the Ancol International Circuit, North Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, who was present with his children and wife, occupied the Grand Stand 2E stands. He admitted that he had ordered the ticket long ago and used his personal money.

While in the stands, Anies cheered along with other spectators. In fact, he several times served photo requests on location. He admitted that watching Formula E Jakarta in the economic stand was an exciting experience that is hard to forget.

“Formula E Jakarta was very exciting. We watched it at the Grand Stand earlier with all the enthusiastic spectators. It was exciting, especially when it entered the final minutes,” said Anies Baswedan when met after Race 1 of Formula E Jakarta around the stands.

When asked why he bought tickets with his own funds, Anies said he didn’t have a problem. According to him, attending as an ordinary spectator and buying his own ticket is a form of his support as a connoisseur of Formula E Jakarta.

“I support, the way I support is by attending and watching live (Formula E Jakarta) on the circuit. Join the excitement,” he explained.

In the end, Anies Baswedan hopes that more and more similar championships will be held in Jakarta. Because, by doing so, the names of the Capital City and Indonesia will resonate in various parts of the world.

“This is pride for all of us. As citizens of Jakarta, I am proud that Jakarta will be the host again. The names of Jakarta and Indonesia are known to the world even further. Hopefully there will be more events like this in DKI in the future,” he said.
