Former Head of BNPB Doni Monardo Passes Away after Battling Illness

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Former Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Lt. Gen. TNI (Ret.) Doni Monardo died on Sunday (3/12/2023) at 17.35 WIB.

This was reported by BNPB 2019-2023 Expert Egy Massadiah via short message.

“Retired Lieutenant General DR HC Doni Monardo has passed away,” said Egy to Kompas.com, Sunday.

Egy revealed that the Head of BNPB for the 2019-2021 period was born on May 10, 1963.

He also expressed his condolences for the passing of the Chair of the Covid-19 Task Force.

“Hopefully his deeds of worship will be accepted by Allah SWT,” wrote Egy.

Previously it was reported that Doni had been ill for three months and was being treated in a hospital.

This was revealed through a video of Doni’s younger brother, Ogi Rulino.

“We, as the younger siblings of retired TNI Lieutenant General Doni Monardo, would like to convey Mr Doni Monardo’s current situation,” said Ogi in a video received by Kompas.com, Friday (22/9/2023) evening.

“It is true that Mr. Doni Monardo is being treated intensively at a hospital, under the supervision of a team of doctors,” he continued.
