Former Bulgarian Interior Minister Comments on Indictment of Prosecutor’s Office Leadership

We have reached a historic low for the leadership of the prosecutor’s office. Hardly anyone expected it to fall so low.

This is how the former Minister of the Interior, Emanuil Yordanov, commented in the studio of Bulgaria ON AIR the latest indictment at the top of the prosecutor’s office.

He explained that each of those involved has his own view of the truth, but no one gives specifics, including in the case of the house in Barcelona.

“Geshev is pressed against the wall. The people who supported him gave up on him. It is no secret that Ivan Geshev was appointed by Boyko Metodiev Borisov. I did not call Borisov “boss”, Geshev called him: “boss, very you’re acting like a madman” – there was such a recording. Now he’s become the “face Boyko Borisov”. It’s interesting for the DPS that Geshev doesn’t call someone a face. Maybe he has more respect from the DPS than from Borisov,” said Yordanov.

The former interior minister suggested to Bulgaria ON AIR that Geshev probably has a folder with Borisov’s name on it, but it is empty.

The lawyer does not expect the SJC to make a decision and remove Geshev.

“I get the impression that Geshev’s lobby is ready with all the possibilities to bully the process. The distribution of forces in this Supreme Judicial Council was “many against 2″ – there are two colleagues who allow themselves their own opinion, everything else voted for a long time this , which Geshev wanted. I wouldn’t be surprised if he continues in this spirit now,” suggested Yordanov.
