The former general’s comments come as Washington is preparing to protect Taiwan from a potential invasion by Beijing.
“China does have a military advantage,” said Keane, who is now a senior strategic analyst Fox News.
“They have more ships, more planes, more offensive and defensive missiles than the United States has,” he said, which was launched Saturday (11/3/2023).
Concerns over China’s invasion of Taiwan continue to mount, with Beijing now allegedly complicit in the destruction of several of the island nation’s underwater internet cables this week in an act of deliberate suppression.
Disruption to Taiwan’s internet is not only a nuisance to residents and visitors to the island, but also has significant implications for its national security.
There is no conclusive evidence that China deliberately cut off the internet, but the incident has brought renewed attention to what an attack on Taiwan could look like and whether the US would be able to adequately stop it.
US war games involving China’s takeover of Taiwan generally involve large-scale amphibious assaults that would try to quickly and efficiently seize the island.
