The smoke caused by the forest fires on the US west coast has been pulled by strong winds to the east coast of the country and has reached the sky over New York. As the website NY Metro Weather reported yesterday, the smoke was visible in the sky over the metropolis, but at an altitude of 4,500 to 6,000 meters.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) and NY Metro Weather, the smoke will have no impact on air quality on the east coast. The meteorologists expect that the clouds of smoke will dissipate as the day progresses.
Devastating forest fires are raging in the states of California, Oregon and Washington. At least 35 people have already died. For days, the smoke from the fires stuck in the western part of the USA and Canada, which led to potentially dangerous air quality in large cities such as Portland, Vancouver and San Francisco.
