Ford and Bosch test automatic parking system in Detroit | CCFA

Ford has just launched, in cooperation with the German supplier Bosch, a full-scale test of vehicles having the ability to move independently in a parking lot to reach a parking space. This experiment is being carried out in Detroit, in the Corktown district, where the American manufacturer has established a site dedicated to innovation in mobility. It also involves the real estate specialist Bedrock.

“In addition to drastically reducing parking times, we see this solution as the first step in bringing automated parking to our city, providing ultimate convenience for our users,” said Heather Wilberger, Chief Information Officer at Bedrock. With an automated valet parking service, the same space can accommodate up to 20% more vehicles, remind the companies involved in the research project. Bosch is conducting other tests, notably with Mercedes, in Germany.
