“Our discovery confirms that adaptation to an anaerobic environment is not exclusive to unicellular eukaryotes, but has also evolved into a multicellular and parasitic animal”, the experts wrote.
According to biologists, this parasite is called Henneguya salminicola and belongs to the same group of corals, jellyfish and anemones. In this case, this parasite does not harm health and in fact accompanies salmon throughout its life.
