For the first time in month: slight decrease in the number of corona patients in nursing wards | Inland

The ICs are currently treating 250 Covid patients. 33 new people with corona were added to intensive care units. 161 new people with a corona infection were admitted to the nursing wards, but because people also left the wards or moved on to the ICUs, the total occupancy in the nursing wards nevertheless decreased.

There are currently 1,310 Covid patients in hospitals. That is a decrease of 2 patients compared to 24 hours ago.

Hospitals admitted 194 new corona patients in the past 24 hours. In the past week, an average of 173 people a day ended up in hospital, the highest level since May 21.

The intensive care units also treat 587 people with other conditions. For example, they have been treated for cancer or serious heart problems, or have had a serious accident. With these ‘non-Covid patients’ there are 837 patients on the ICUs. Those wings currently have capacity for 984 people. That means they have 147 beds left. That is the smallest margin since April 8, almost 7 months ago. Intensive care units should actually have 188 beds left for emergencies, but this has not been met for the eighth day in a row. Last November, hospitals were unable to have enough IC beds available for such a long period of time in a row.

With the addition of the nursing departments, hospitals still have 1441 beds left, both for corona patients and for others. This means that the average hospital still has twelve beds available.

About two weeks ago, it was decided to spread patients across the country again. This should distribute the pressure on the hospitals and prevent care as much as possible from bogging down. On Tuesday, seven people were moved to another region. About a week and a half ago there were also seven trips. The last time more people were dispersed was on August 31.
