Scary stats
2/10. Only two victories in ten matches played at Marcel-Picot this season in the league, without counting, therefore, the elimination at 8e round of the Coupe de France against Sochaux on January 20. It is almost the worst record in the history of ASNL at home in twenty-five Ligue 2 seasons, only the 2018-2019 financial year (1 success in the first 10 matches) was even worse before the ” remountada ”successful with Alain Perrin.
Even in 2017-2018, another difficult season just after the descent from L1 to L2 with four different coaches, ASNL had won more at home (3 wins in 10 games). All the more disappointing as, last year, the results at Picot were for a long time the great strength of Jean-Louis Garcia’s men. At the same time of the championship, a year ago, Nancy was undefeated at home, with 5 wins and 5 draws!

No twelfth man
Overall, there are more victories away from home with the camera imposed by the health crisis. Logical since the home teams no longer benefit from the support of the supporters. It’s less complicated, too, for the opponents and for the referees who are no longer under pressure from the local public. The atmosphere at Marcel-Picot, in a stadium that is always well stocked for L2, has often helped ASNL to get some additional points.
This is no longer the case today, unfortunately. It is surely no coincidence that the Nancéiens have roughly the same performance at home (11 points in 10 games) as away (9 points in 11 games). There is an improvement in performance on the road compared to last season (0 victory against 2 this season) but it has never been felt in the general classification, because of this too soft pace at Picot.

Worst home defense
When we try to understand the concerns of ASNL at home, we quickly fall back on its major problem of the season, in general: its defensive permeability. This ASNL has not once preserved its clean sheet on its ground, a billiard in addition. The Nancéiens turn at an average of two balls picked up at the back of the nets per meeting at Marcel-Picot. 20 goals taken in 10 matches!
ASNL is thus the worst defense in the championship at home. His chances of winning would become much higher, this Saturday against Paris FC, in the event of a first night at Picot without a goal conceded… Chick?
