The footballers of the Berlin Thunder won the so-called Ostderby in Leipzig. On Sunday, the Berliners beat the Leipzig Kings 33:22 (21:9) in the Football League of Europe (ELF). It was her first win in four attempts.
After the first part of the game, the hosts were not undeservedly leading 9-0. But then the hour of the playmaker Joe Germinerio and the pass receiver Robin Wilzeck struck. The two turned the 0:9 deficit into a 21:9 lead by the half-time break.

The biggest problem for the Berliners was their often non-existent running game. Only at the end of the third quarter did the running attack gain momentum. The Berliners also benefited from the fact that the Saxons made many individual mistakes both in attack and in defence.
In the second round, the guests forced a preliminary decision early on – their away win was no longer in jeopardy. The Berliners now have a positive record of four wins and three defeats. At the same time they managed to get revenge for the 15:19 home defeat three weeks ago.
