The German Bundesliga club SC Freiburg lodged a protest on Monday against the rating of the leader’s 4-1 away win after FC Bayern Munich made a mistake. It’s about Marcel Sabitzer coming on for Kingsley Coman in the 86th minute: Because the ÖFB team player came onto the pitch too early or the Frenchman left it too late, twelve players were on the pitch for 17 seconds.

The club announced on Monday that they were in a dilemma through no fault of their own. You have neither a share nor an influence on the events surrounding the change process, but are formally in the active role of having the processes legally checked.
“The Board of Directors of the Sport-Club Freiburg e. V. decided after intensive discussions at different levels and a legal examination to object to the rating of the game,” the club said in a statement.
DFB sports court now on the train
Now the sports court of the German Football Association (DFB) has to deal with the case. The DFB announced that this would first obtain comments from those involved in the procedure. After the comments have been received and evaluated, the committee will decide on the further course of the process. If Freiburg had waived an objection, the DFB would not have intervened.
There was also a statement from FC Bayern. “We are convinced that the DFB sports court can only come to one decision according to the applicable regulations: The rating of our 4-1 victory is preserved,” said Michael Gerlinger, Vice President Sports Business and Competitions of Munich, on Monday on dpa- Inquiry. CEO Oliver Kahn also sees it similarly. “We are not surprised that SC Freiburg has appealed. The matter is now in the hands of sports jurisdiction, which we fully trust.”
Sabitzer’s premiere goal goes under
Referee Christian Dingert had interrupted the encounter after Freiburg protests on and off the field when the score was 1:3. The wrong shirt number had previously been displayed for Sabitzer when Coman was planned to change. The French didn’t feel addressed and didn’t leave the field in a double substitution. In this phase there were no game-changing scenes, Dingert recorded the events in the game report. Sabitzer then scored his first goal for Bayern in the 94th minute at eleven against eleven.
This means that Bayern, who are still well on their way to winning the tenth championship in a row, have a six-point lead over pursuers Borussia Dortmund until the incident is resolved. Freiburg, currently in fifth place, could underpin the European Cup ambitions depending on the decision.
