In the 1900. The team of coach Uwe Rösler lost their better starting position at 1. FC Union Berlin with a courageous and weak performance. As with the last crash seven years ago, the Fortuna only slipped to a direct relegation zone on the last match day.
Gladbach in the premier class
In the battle for fourth place in the Champions League, Borussia Mönchengladbach (with Stefan Lainer) prevailed over Bayer Leverkusen (with Julian Baumgartlinger). Thanks to a 2-1 win over Hertha BSC Berlin, Gladbach claimed fourth place behind Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig, Leverkusen and a 1-0 win against Mainz was no help. In the previous year, Leverkusen Gladbach had snatched fourth place on the last matchday.
Hoffenheim took sixth place and thus a fixed place in the Europa League group stage. The TSG (with Stefan Posch, Florian Grillitsch and Christoph Baumgartner from 56th) won thanks to four goals from Andrej Kramaric (8th, 30th, 48th, 50th / penalty) 4: 0 in Dortmund and overtook Wolfsburg. The VfL supervised by Oliver Glasner had to admit defeat of Bayern (with David Alaba) with 0: 4 without the injured Xaver Schlager and has to be seventh in the EL qualification.
Bayern hit 100 goals mark
The Bavarians ended the season as befits the season. Thanks to Kingsley Coman (4th), Cuisance (37th), top scorer Robert Lewandowski with his 34th goal of the season (72nd / penalty) and Thomas Müller (79th), the Munich team reached the 100 goal mark. It was only for the second time that a team achieved a three-digit figure. Only the Bavarians had succeeded so far, the mark of 101 goals from 1971/1972 (with Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Müller) is the record that is still valid today. Bayern won the eighth championship title in a row with a lead of 13 points.
