Foo Fighters poke fun at ultra-conservative protesters…

“You mustn’t hate, you must dance.” Before their performance in Kansas, the Foo Fighters treated Westboro Baptist Church protesters to a performance of the world hit “You Should Be Dancing.”

The Foo Fighters tour made a stop in Kansas on Thursday, giving the band an opportunity to rekindle their feud with the Westboro Baptist Church. Church protesters regularly line the parking lot of Foo Fighters shows with hate-filled signs.

Frontman Dave Grohl decided to jump on a full-occupancy truck this time.

‘Ladies and gentlemen, I have something to say. Because you know what? I love you! I will,” Grohl told the protesters as the music played. “The way I see it, I love everyone. That’s what you should do… I give all my love, and you shouldn’t hate. You should dance!’ The Foo’s started playing the Bee Gees hit.

The American band recently released an album as the Dee Gees, a tribute band to the Bee Gees.

The Westboro Baptist Church is a hyper-conservative denomination, notorious for homophobic and anti-Semitic hate speech. They are not recognized by any Christian church. Dave Grohl also hijacked their protest in 2011. The band then also played on a truck dressed as hillbillies. In recent years, the Westboro Baptist Church has tweeted a lot about the attention Grohl paid to them. Their Twitter account has since been suspended for hate speech.
