France, which is waiting for the European Medicines Agency (EMA) to approve the vaccine, is also expected to begin vaccination on the 27th, Reuters reported.

French health minister Olivier Berand said on Twitter on the 21st (local time) that “we plan to start vaccinating Corona 19 from the 27th.” Berang also added that the vulnerable population, including the elderly, will be vaccinated first.

Earlier, Germany and Spain announced on the 27th that they would start vaccinations in their countries. The plans of these countries presuppose that the Pfizer vaccine will be approved at the EMA evaluation meeting one day ahead.

The Pfizer vaccine has already passed the review by regulatory authorities such as the UK, the US, and Switzerland, and is expected to pass in the EU as long as major EU countries, Germany and France, announced their vaccination plans and pressed for rapid approval. EU Commissioner Ursula Ponderrayen also suggested that “we will start vaccination across the EU on the 27th, 28th and 29th,” and “let’s let 27 member states start vaccination on the same day.”

After the 21st evaluation meeting, the EMA makes recommendations for use, and the EU Commission decides whether to approve or not.

In Europe, the Corona 19 variant virus, which has a maximum spread of up to 70%, has spread around the UK and is caught in an emergency, such as locking the transportation lock.

French President Emmanuel Macron was also confirmed on the 17th and moved from the Elysées Palace in Paris to a resort near the Palace of Versailles to work remotely. Although the exact route of infection is not yet known, it is estimated that it was infected at the EU summit held in Brussels, Belgium on the 10th and 11th, local media said.

According to the international statistics website World Omometer, as of the 21st, the cumulative number of corona 19 confirmed cases in Europe is 21.3 million, and the cumulative death toll is 490,000. On the 20th, the number of additional infections per day reached 180,000, and the death toll on that day reached 3107.
