Florida Man Invents “Bug Kisser” Device for Insect Lovers

As a little boy, Justin “Legboot” (34) from Florida in the USA liked to follow the insects that scuttled around in the garden.

He could sit in the grass and hear bumblebees whirring for hours, while he explored butterflies, beetles and golden wasps.

As he grew older, he dropped his interest, and did not pay any more attention to the hundreds of insect species that scurried around the garden.

Until one day he decided to get closer to them than ever.

Creates reactions: – Takes out the eye when I want

– Pretty sick

On Thursday 20 April, Justin had the new launch of his somewhat bizarre invention “instekkisser”, or “Bug Kisser”. It is a device that will make it possible for all insect lovers in the world to kiss their favorite crabs.

The device has a mouthpiece that can resemble a pacifier, with a pair of micro-lips attached to it.

– This way you can take it one step further with the invertebrates, says Justin to Dagbladet, with a clear underlying irony.

– That’s pretty sick, huh? Amazing that no one has come up with this before, he says, laughing.

He also says that the kisser comes with an insect book, where you can tick off and enter how many insects you have kissed.

– Some praise this and others think it is the worst thing they have seen, he continues.

On TikTok, there are over half a million people who follow Justin and his trips into nature where he kisses insects.

One of the clips that has gone viral is a clip where he kisses a grasshopper. It has been viewed over 15 million times, and has received over 20,000 comments. Most are of a good nature, but some do not see the humor in the invention.

– This is just madness, writes a follower under the clip.

Even Justin doesn’t take the criticism that comes his way.

– This is just fun. I kiss beetles and ticks and people love it. Wasps were a bit scary then, he admits.

He clarifies that the bug kisser is made for fun. Nevertheless, he sincerely believes that some people will appreciate the invention.

“My lips are strong”

Even if the little insect kisser is rather sensational, it can be thought that Justin has reinvented gunpowder. Already in February, Dagbladet was able to report that a university in China had created a kissing machine for humans in long-distance relationships.

Justin himself says he has not heard of the mentioned machine and that he has not taken inspiration from it. At the same time, he admits that he came across the idea by chance.

– One day when I went for a walk I saw a sticker that said: “I want to kiss every single insect, but they are so small and my lips are so strong”. At first I thought it was hysterical. Then I thought I should help this person, says the entrepreneur and laughs.

He says he is satisfied with the product, and reveals that he has sold a few hundred kissers since the launch went ahead.

On the product’s websitewhere the insect kisser is set to cost NOK 170, several buyers have taken to the comment section:

«The product you didn’t know you needed. Fantastic», writes one.

«Here you give the people what we want», writes another. A third writes that she is looking forward to testing out the device, and adds that she has “The kiss always goes wrong».
