Florida Authorities Identify Cause and Manner of Death

Florida authorities have concluded their investigation into the cause of death for Bobbie Jean Carter, the sister of Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter and the late singer Aaron Carter. The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner Department has reported that Carter’s death, which occurred on December 23, was a result of “intoxication by the combined effects of fentanyl and methamphetamine.” The ruling of the cause of death has been listed as accidental.[1]

Details of Bobbie Jean Carter’s Death

According to the report, Bobbie Jean’s roommate last saw her at 6:30 a.m. and found her unresponsive at around 7 a.m. She was later pronounced dead at 8:02 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa. The medical history of Bobbie Jean also listed schizophrenia as a condition.[1]

Family’s Statement and Previous Tragedies

Bobbie Jean’s mother, Jane Carter, confirmed her daughter’s death to TMZ last year and expressed her shock and grief at the news. This tragedy marks the third loss suffered by the family, as Aaron Carter tragically passed away at the age of 34 in an accidental drowning, and their sister Leslie Carter died at 25 from an overdose in 2012.[1]

Sibling’s Emotional Tribute

Days following Bobbie Jean’s death, her brother Nick Carter, who is also a member of the Backstreet Boys, paid tribute to her on Instagram. In a heartfelt post, Nick honored his sister’s memory, expressing his grief, and emphasizing the preciousness of life and the importance of cherishing the time spent with loved ones.[1]
