Flamengo debuts this Friday (05), against São José-RS
The boys from Ninho who will represent Flamengo in Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior, Copinha, traveled this Wednesday afternoon (03) towards Osasco. In the city of São Paulo, Rubro-Negro will play the games in Group 19 of the main youth category tournament in Brazil. The Estádio Municipal José Liberatti will be the stage for the clashes in this group, and Fla’s debut will take place next Friday (05), against São José, from Rio Grande do Sul.

THE CAST
In this edition, Flamengo registered athletes born between 2003 and 2007. Despite being young, however, some boys are already known by the fans and even scored professional goals. For example, Lorran scored in the adult team for Cariocão last year, against Bangu. Werton scored in the Brasileirão 2022 match, against Juventude.
Other athletes known to part of the fans are Petterson, who was recently interviewed by Barcelona (ESP), Rayan Lucas, a midfielder who is usually mentioned by Tite for professional matches. Furthermore, Flamengo’s starting goalkeeper in the Copinha will be Dyogo Alves, hero of the Brazilian under-20 title campaign last year. The archer is one of the survivors of the Ninho do Urubu fire in 2019.

In an exclusive interview with Coluna do Fla, the coach of the Flamengo team in Copinha, Mário Jorge, highlighted an athlete: defender João Victor, who played for the youth teams and was born in 2007. In other words, he is not even under-17 yet , but will play the tournament for players aged 21 and under.
— I see the motivation of the boys to be there at Flamengo. The 2006 group, which was champion of the Flamengo Adidas Cup last year, has a lot of players included in this squad now that it is going to the Copa São Paulo, and we still have João Victor, right? Who was champion of this edition. A boy that we project a lot, a boy with great potential, he has already played in a World Cup in the category — said Mário Jorge, to Coluna do Fla.
