Germany already in the 48th minute they used the indecisiveness of the defense. Ridle Baku played to Lukas Nmech who ran to the open field, who defeated Diogo Costa from a few meters. For Portugal, who previously won 12 consecutive matches, was the first time in this championship that she had to chase the result.

Manager of the German youth national team: They are still a good team
– We may not have such a capable generation as four years ago, but they are still a good team. Well-balanced, thanks to which everyone here feels very needed – he praised his own before the final frame Stefan Kuntz, who has been the coach of the German under-21 team since September 2016. On Sunday, he was promoted to the finals for the third time. And for the second time he triumphed in it, because in the second half no more goals were scored at the stadium in Ljubljana. After a quick goal, the Germans set themselves up for counterattacks. And although they led them very little, they defended well access to their own goal.
Kuntz reached the youth European championship with the German national team in 2017 (incl.in. with Serge Gnabrym, Maximilian Arnold, Janik Hagerer and Thilo Kehrer). He then defeated the Spaniards 1-0 in the final. Two years later he faced them again, but then the Spaniards won it 2: 1.
