Météo France had announced a new heat wave in France, starting this Sunday. Five departments are placed in heat wave orange vigilance from 4 p.m. These are the Eastern Pyreneesfrom Vauclusefrom Dromeof the’Ardeche a you Gard, where strong heat is expected for the next three days. The high temperatures will arrive first from the southeast on Monday before reaching the southwest on Tuesday then the north on Wednesday, “peak heat day expected nationwide”, indicates Meteo France.
Ce sunday, 36°C were recorded in Marseille, Montpellier and Perpignan at 4 p.m., and 380°C in Nîmes. In the night of sunday to monday, the temperature will not drop below 23 to 25°C on the coastal plains of Languedoc and it will also be very mild towards the lower Rhône valley, no less than 20 to 23°C. This Mondaywe expect 35 to 38°C on the departments placed in orange vigilance and peaks at 39°C towards the Gard. Wednesday, the maximums will often be greater than or equal to 35°C and Météo France predicts peaks of 39 or 40°C over the southwest. The intensity and duration of this heat wave will be “less than those of the previous episode”, however, specifies Météo France. Mercury is expected to drop west from Wednesday.
